Speaker Abbas Tajudeen’s 2025 Scholarship Screening Begins in Kaduna State

Thousands of students from Kaduna State are currently undergoing screening for the 2025 Scholarship Scheme sponsored by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, Ph.D (Iyan Zazzau).

The screening, which began on July 5, is being conducted to ensure that only qualified and deserving students benefit from the initiative.

The scholarship is part of the Speaker’s ongoing effort to support education and ease the financial burden on Kaduna State indigenes, particularly those in higher institutions.

The screening exercise is taking place in Zaria Local Government Area and is being managed in an orderly manner to avoid overcrowding. Applicants were asked to first check a published list to confirm if they were shortlisted. Only those whose names appeared were allowed to proceed to the venue.

To make the process smooth, students were grouped according to their academic levels. The schedule is as follows:

1. Saturday, July 5 – IJMB, 400 Level & 500 Level

2. Sunday, July 6 – 300 Level

3. Monday, July 7 – ND & HND

4. Wednesday, July 9 – NCE I, II & III

5. Thursday, July 10 – 200 Level

6. Saturday, July 12 – 100 Level

Documents Required:

Each student is required to appear in person with the original and photocopies of the following:

1. Admission Letter

2. Indigene Certificate

3. Receipt of Last School Fees Payment

The Speaker’s scholarship has been praised as timely support for students struggling with school fees and related expenses. Many applicants expressed appreciation, describing it as a welcome relief in their academic journey.

The screening process is being monitored by the National Association of Zazzau Students (NAZAS), in collaboration with the Speaker’s Education Committee, to maintain fairness and transparency.

NAZAS President, Comr. Abubakar Abdulkadir, urged students to arrive early, follow all instructions, and present valid documents. He emphasized that the process is designed to ensure the scholarship reaches those who truly need it.
