The immediate past president of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari, has been laid to rest at his residence, Daura, Katsina state.
The former president's corpse left London this morning, where he reportedly died, and was buried at 5:50 pm this evening
Present at the funeral ceremony were dignitaries across Nigeria and beyond. Some of whom were President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, his vice, Kashim Shetima, the former president Goodluck Jonathan and the former vice president Atiku Abubakar. Also present were the Niger prime minister, Ali Zaine, members of the National Assembly, and other dignitaries across Nigeria
President Buhari died at the age of 82 in London on Sunday
Until his death, President Buhari was the head of state between 1983-1985, and an elected democratic president between 2015-2023.
The funeral ceremony was still ongoing as at the time of filing this report
