It is often said that beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder, but the truth is, we all have our own unique glow. Makeup is an art, and beauty is a spirit, and you don’t need fake eyelashes or eye extensions to look stunning.

Natural Beauty Still Wins

God has naturally blessed women with beauty. However, due to social media trends and peer influence, many feel the pressure to look extra by adding fake lashes. In places like Northern Nigeria, makeup has also become a popular skill and source of income for many ladies. It is more than just beauty, it is a business.

Still, going natural does not make you less stylish. In fact, it can be healthier and just as attractive.

The Hidden Risks of Fake Lashes

Nigerian makeup artist Touchbyfee, who has four years of experience, avoids using lash extensions on her clients. According to her, “The glue used for false lashes can damage your follicles, cause permanent lash loss, and even lead to infections, pain, or watery eyes."

Our eyes are too important to risk for temporary beauty. Sacrificing comfort and health for a trend just isn’t worth it.

Healthier Alternatives That Still Look Amazing

To elevate your look, you can adopt these methods rather than use fake lashes

1. Eyeliner: This defines your eyes, makes your lashes look fuller, and adds boldness to your look.

2. Mascara: Curl your lashes and apply a few coats. A lash primer underneath can add extra volume and  length.

3. Castor oil: Use it on your lashes before bed, it helps with natural growth.

4. Bright eyeshadow: If you have gaps in your lashes, eyeshadow can draw attention away while still  making your eyes pop.

It is advisable to avoid waterproof mascara when possible because it can weaken your natural lashes. Keep things gentle and effective.

Be informed that wearing fake lashes doesn’t define your beauty. You can look gorgeous, confident, and classy using natural techniques that protect your eyes and health. As the saying goes, health is wealth. Choose beauty routines that celebrate your natural features and keep your well-being first.
