Chelsea FC defeated Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) with a 3-0 victory in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup final at MetLife Stadium, New Jersey, on July 13, 2025, claiming their second title in the competition. Enzo Maresca outclassed the UEFA Champions League winners with their tactical brilliance and clinical finishing.

Cole Palmer stole the show, scoring twice in the first half. His 22nd-minute opener exploited a defensive error, and his second, a precise strike from the box’s edge, came eight minutes later.

Just before halftime, Palmer set up Joao Pedro  to make it 3-0. PSG’s hopes faded when João Neves was sent off for pulling Marc Cucurella’s hair, reducing them to ten men. Despite late pressure, Chelsea’s defense, led by Levi Colwill and Robert Sanchez, held firm for a clean sheet.

Chelsea’s road to victory include wins over Benfica, Palmeiras, and Fluminense. The result marks them as the first English club to win the Club World Cup twice, completing their international trophy cabinet. PSG, chasing a sextuple, were undone by defensive lapses and disciplinary issues.

Palmer’s brace and assist earned him the best player of the match.PSG, despite earlier dominance, must regroup for the new season.
