Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has reaffirmed its status as Nigeria’s leading academic institution by winning the prestigious title of “Overall Best Institution in Nigeria” at the 5th Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) National Tertiary Admissions' Performance Merit (NATAP-M) Awards.
The award, presented during a ceremony in Abuja on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, recognizes exceptional performance, transparency, and institutional quality across Nigeria’s tertiary education system. ABU Zaria emerged decisively, earning a perfect 14 points across all evaluation categories.
This national recognition strengthens the university’s reputation as “Naturally Ahead”, a slogan that reflects its legacy as one of Nigeria’s oldest, largest, and most influential universities.
Officials and members of the ABU community have hailed the NATAP-M Award not just as another achievement, but as a validation of their continuous commitment to academic and administrative excellence.
